Hyponatremia

Muriel has a sodium level of 125. We are hoping that is the cause of her terrible night and early morning. She is now slowly getting sodium salene solution intravenously. She is sleeping with the help of Ativan. Soon we need to wake her for meds.
Last night her heart rate was up to 180 (from around 120ish) and her oxygen saturation was down to 70's (from high 90's). She was extremely irritated and screaming. Once that subsided she was grunting. Her hands and feet turned blue and cold. She had a fever. She got a chest xray and there was some fluid, but nothing alarming.
The lack of sodium can cause water to stay in the brain and affect mood and may be why she is screaming.
The neurological treatment is coming first it seems. Because she is screaming she is having a lower cardiac output, which affects everything.
